At OneWay Driver Training School, Inc., we are dedicated to providing high-quality driving education to teenagers and adults in the DFW area. Our school was founded by Debra K. Routh, who has been teaching drivers education for over 30 years, and Penney Vogelsang, who has extensive experience in teaching defensive driving and DWI programs. Our mission is to teach safe and responsible driving practices to each and every one of our students, and we strive to achieve this through our comprehensive and engaging programs.
Our Services
At OneWay Driver Training School, Inc., we offer a range of driving education services designed to meet the unique needs of our students. Our program is state-approved, and we are dedicated to providing personalized instruction and flexible scheduling to accommodate our students' busy lives. Our services include:
- Teenage Driving Education: Our program is designed specifically for teenagers, and it covers all the necessary skills and knowledge required to obtain a driver's license. Our course consists of 32 hours of classroom instruction, 14 hours of behind-the-wheel training, and 7 hours of observation. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the entire process, from getting your permit to taking your driving test.
Teen Driver's Education Explanation
Our teenage driving education program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of safe and responsible driving practices. Our program includes:
- Classroom instruction: Our 32-hour classroom course covers topics such as traffic laws, road signs, and defensive driving techniques.
- Behind-the-wheel training: Our 14-hour behind-the-wheel training program will teach you how to operate a vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Observation: Our 7 hours of observation will provide you with the opportunity to observe and learn from our experienced instructors.
Student Expectations
At OneWay Driver Training School, Inc., we expect our students to adhere to certain guidelines to ensure their success and safety. These guidelines include:
- Completing all classes, make-ups, driving times, and observation times within six months of the class start date.
- Paying attention and being cooperative during class time and driving time.
- Completing all driving requirements, including 14 hours of behind-the-wheel training and 7 hours of observation.
- Practicing at home a minimum of 30 hours, and accumulating at least 50 hours before driving alone.
Driving Policies
At OneWay Driver Training School, Inc., we are committed to providing our students with a safe and supportive learning environment. Our driving policies include:
- Scheduling driving times: Students must call Debra and leave a message to schedule their driving times.
- Cancellation policy: Students must cancel at least 8 hours in advance to avoid a $20 cancellation fee.
- Driving test: Our 7th driving time will include a driving test, and students will be advised of their weaknesses and can schedule a make-up lesson if necessary.
- Foundation of skills: During the 7 hours behind the wheel, students will receive the foundation of skills, but they will progress faster with practice at home.
Required Video
At OneWay Driver Training School, Inc., we require our students to watch a video on safe driving practices. This video is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the importance of defensive driving and how to avoid accidents. By watching this video, students will gain valuable insights into the dangers of distracted driving and the importance of staying focused on the road.
