Welcome to our Premier Driver Training School, located at 8202 B Williamson Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. We are proud to serve the communities of Christiansburg, Lynchburg, and Roanoke, as well as the surrounding areas. Our office hours are Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and behind-the-wheel sessions are available seven days a week by appointment only.
Our Services
At our driver training school, we offer a range of services to help you become a confident and safe driver. Our services include:
- Driver Improvement Clinic (DIP) Classes: Our DIP classes are designed to help drivers of all ages and skill levels improve their driving abilities. Our classes start on weekends and run for a full 8 hours. We also offer online classes, with some restrictions. Our classes are informative, engaging, and designed to help you become a better driver.
- Private Lessons: If you need additional practice beyond our DIP classes, we offer private lessons with our experienced instructors. Our private lessons are customized to meet your specific needs, whether you are a beginner or an experienced driver.
- Permit Retake Class: If you have failed your permit test, we offer a permit retake class to help you prepare for your next attempt. Our class covers all the necessary material to help you pass your permit test.
- Testing & Office Hours: We offer testing and office hours by appointment only. Please call us at 540-761-5099 to schedule an appointment.

We have a combined 7 years of local law enforcement experience in Roanoke VA, 23 years in the insurance industry, and over 50 years of public and private education experience. Our team is eager to share our driving knowledge from a hands-on point of view.
Our vision is to be the student's best choice for a driving school. We pride ourselves on taking our driving knowledge and effectively teaching it to people who need that knowledge. We will guide each student in realizing the goal of securing a driver's license and/or completing a certified driving improvement program. Our job is much more than simply reciting information from a book; we work with people to overcome their fears and help them become safe and confident drivers.
Our Team
Our team of instructors is experienced, knowledgeable, and committed to providing the best possible education to our students. Our instructors undergo regular training and are knowledgeable about the latest driving techniques and safety regulations.
- Ashby Owens, Owner: Ashby has worked in the insurance industry for the last 29 years. Prior to moving into the insurance arena, he was a police officer and police investigator for over 7 years. Ashby has vast experience in applying Virginia Traffic regulation in civil and criminal processes. He is excited to share his experience and knowledge with his students.
- Drew Owens, General Manager, Driving & Classroom Instructor: Drew runs the day-to-day operations in the office and is happy to help with any questions or scheduling needs.
