MA Driving School

M.A. Driving School has been proudly serving the cities of Sumner, Orting, Puyallup, Bonneylake, and Auburn for the past 17 years. Although we have now closed our doors, we are grateful for the opportunity to have provided driver education to so many individuals in our community. At M.A. Driving School, we were dedicated to creating safe, responsible drivers by emphasizing the basic mechanics of driving, execution of driving operations, and a thorough understanding of safe driving rules.

Our Washington-certified instructors provided students with a variety of driving experiences in a controlled and safe environment. Our driving lessons included city, rural, and interstate driving, as well as practicing maneuvers such as parallel parking, backing around a corner, uphill/downhill parking, and navigating through many types of intersections. Our school and instructors were certified by the Washington State Department of Licensing, and our staff had over 25 years of combined experience working with youth and families in our community.

Our Services

At M.A. Driving School, we provided the following services:

• Driver Education Classroom: Our classroom instruction provided students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become safe and responsible drivers. Our curriculum covered topics such as traffic laws, road signs, defensive driving techniques, and alcohol and drug awareness.
• In-Car Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons: Our instructors provided students with individualized instruction tailored to their specific needs and abilities. We believed that one-on-one instruction was the most effective way to teach driving skills, and our instructors were dedicated to providing a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Written Knowledge Test: In addition to our driver education courses, we also offered a written knowledge test for students to obtain their learner's permit. Our test was designed to ensure that students had a solid understanding of safe driving practices and traffic laws.
• Office Hours: Our office was open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Our staff was always available to answer any questions and provide assistance with scheduling and registration.

Our Instructors

At M.A. Driving School, our instructors were certified by the Washington State Department of Licensing and were CPR and First Aid certified. Our instructors completed annual continuing education for renewals of their driver instructor license. We believed that staying informed about improvements, new laws, and updates in traffic safety was essential to providing the best possible education to our students.

Our Founders

M.A. Driving School was founded by Beverly Martinez and Joan Brown. After working for 23 years at the USPS, Beverly found herself searching for a new career path. After enrolling her daughter in a driver education program, Beverly became interested in the traffic safety industry. She started researching the industry and quickly discovered her passion for it. With the help of her friends and family, Beverly founded M.A. Driving School in 2005.

Joan Brown, co-founder of M.A. Driving School, met Beverly while working as a social worker and educator for over 30 years. Joan's experience working with children and young adults made her a valuable asset to M.A. Driving School. She was instrumental in establishing the school and was dedicated to promoting safe driving skills for every customer's lifetime of driving.
